Skillz Shop Refund and Returns Policy

This Refund and Returns Policy applies to all physical products purchased from the Skillz online shop and to products bought directly from Skillz at our camps and events (for example hockey sticks, apparel such as hoodies, and accessories such as coaching boards or gloves).

This policy is in addition to your rights under Irish and EU consumer law. If there is any conflict between this policy and your legal rights, your legal rights will apply.gov.ie+3Citizens Information+3Citizens Information+3

1. Change of mind returns

If you change your mind about a purchase, we offer a simple returns option.

You can return eligible products for a full refund within 30 days of the date you received them, provided that:

  • The item is unused

  • The item is in its original packaging where reasonably possible

  • You can provide proof of purchase (for example an order confirmation email, order number, or receipt)

This 30 day period is more generous than the minimum 14 day cooling off period that normally applies to most online purchases within the EU.Citizens Information+2CCPC+2

Refunds for change of mind will be made to the original method of payment only.

2. Items that are eligible for return

The following types of products are covered by this policy:

  • Hockey sticks

  • Apparel, for example hoodies and clothing

  • Accessories, for example coaching boards, gloves, and similar equipment

At this time we do not sell customised or personalised products, so all products are eligible for change of mind returns, as long as they meet the condition rules above.

3. Condition of returned items

To approve a return, we normally require that:

  • Items are unused and in a resaleable condition

  • Original tags and packaging are included where applicable

  • You include proof of purchase with the return or provide it when contacting us

If an item is returned used, damaged, or without reasonable packaging, we may reduce the refund to reflect any loss in value, except where the item is faulty.

4. Who pays for return shipping

Change of mind returns

  • If you are returning an item because you have changed your mind, you are responsible for the cost of sending the item back to us.

  • You can choose any tracked postal or courier service. We recommend using a tracked service, as you are responsible for the goods until they reach us.

Faulty, damaged, or incorrect items

  • If an item arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, we will cover reasonable return shipping costs or arrange a return label or collection where possible.

  • In these cases, please contact us before sending anything back so we can approve the return and confirm the best method.

These rules are in line with Irish and EU distance selling rules, which allow sellers to ask customers to pay return costs for non faulty goods if this was made clear in advance, while requiring sellers to cover costs for faulty goods.CCPC+1

5. Faulty or damaged products

If your product arrives damaged, is not as described, or develops a fault, please contact us as soon as possible.

  • For the quickest resolution, we ask that you contact us within 30 days of receiving the item.

  • Where a product is confirmed to be faulty or not as described, our first step will normally be to offer a replacement of the same or similar item at no cost to you.

  • If a replacement is not possible within a reasonable time, we will offer you a full refund instead.

Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights under Irish and EU law, including your right to a minimum two year guarantee for faulty goods bought from a business in the EU.European Union+1

6. Exchanges

We are happy to offer exchanges, for example if you ordered the wrong size or model, subject to stock availability.

  • Exchanges follow the same 30 day window and condition rules as change of mind returns.

  • For exchanges that are not due to a fault or error on our side, you are responsible for the cost of sending the original item back to us.

  • If we cannot provide the requested replacement, we will offer a refund instead.

7. Purchases at Skillz camps and events

Where you purchase a Skillz product directly from us at a camp or event, the same refund and returns rules apply as for our online shop:

  • 30 day change of mind period

  • Items must be unused and in resaleable condition

  • Proof of purchase is required

  • You pay return postage for change of mind

  • We pay reasonable return costs for faulty or incorrect items

Please note that private person to person sales of second hand equipment between players, coaches, or parents are not covered by this policy, as those are not sales by Skillz as a business.

8. How to start a return

To start a return or report a faulty item, please contact us with:

  • Your name

  • Order number or proof of purchase

  • Details of the item

  • Reason for the return

  • Clear photos if the item is damaged or faulty

We will reply with instructions on how and where to send your item.

9. Refund timing and method

  • Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it and let you know whether the refund or exchange has been approved.

  • We aim to process approved refunds within 7 working days of receiving the item.

  • In all cases, we will process refunds within 14 days of receiving proof that you have returned the goods, in line with Irish and EU rules for distance contracts.CCPC+1

  • Refunds will be made to the original payment method only. Depending on your bank or card provider, it may take a few extra days for the funds to appear in your account.

Delivery charges

  • If you return your entire order within the 30 day period, we will refund the original standard delivery charge you paid.

  • We do not refund any additional premium delivery services you may have chosen, such as express shipping.

10. Orders from outside Ireland and the EU

We are based in Ireland, and most orders are shipped within Ireland. Customers ordering from outside the EU are still covered by this Refund and Returns Policy, but your statutory consumer rights may differ depending on your country.

Customs duties, import taxes, and any local handling fees are the responsibility of the customer and are not refundable by Skillz if you return your order, except where required by local law.
