Skillz Camps Terms & Conditions:

These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made for camps, sessions, and events aimed at children and young people provided by Skillz. By booking a place, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Booking and Payment

  • Registration: Bookings must be made via our website or approved booking channels. A booking is only confirmed once full payment has been received.

  • Payment: We accept payment via credit/debit card through our secure payment provider (Stripe/Wix Payments).

  • Availability: Places are limited. If a camp is full, we may offer a waiting list, but a place is not guaranteed until a vacancy arises and payment is made.

2. Cancellations by You (The Customer) We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy for camp bookings is as follows:

  • More than 14 days notice: If you cancel 14 days or more before the camp starts, we will refund your fee in full, minus a small administrative charge (e.g., €5) to cover transaction fees.

  • Less than 14 days notice: If you cancel less than 14 days before the start date, we cannot offer a cash refund. However, we may offer a "Skillz Credit" for a future camp, subject to our discretion.

  • Less than 48 hours notice / No Show: No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of the camp start date or for participants who do not attend.

3. Cancellations by Skillz

  • Low Numbers: We reserve the right to cancel a camp if minimum participation numbers are not met. In this unlikely event, a full refund will be issued.

  • Force Majeure: If we must cancel due to extreme weather, venue closure, or safety concerns, we will offer a full refund or a credit note for a future camp.

4. Medical Information and Safety

  • Disclosure: It is the parent/guardian's responsibility to declare all relevant medical conditions, allergies (e.g., nuts, bee stings), or dietary requirements on the booking form.

  • Medication: Skillz coaches cannot administer medication (except in life-saving emergencies, e.g., EpiPen). If your child requires medication during camp hours, please speak to the head coach on arrival.

  • Injuries: While we take every safety precaution, sports carry a risk of injury. Skillz is not liable for any injuries sustained during normal play. In the event of a serious accident, we will contact emergency services and the parent/guardian immediately.

  • Players must wear a gum shield at all times. Any injury as a result of not wearing a gum shield or shin pads shall be the responsibility of the participant.

5. Code of Behaviour To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, we expect all participants to behave respectfully.

  • Zero Tolerance: We have a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying, physical aggression, or persistent disruption.

  • Sanctions: If a participant’s behaviour is deemed unacceptable or unsafe, Skillz reserves the right to exclude them from the remainder of the camp.

  • No Refund: If a child is sent home due to behavioural issues, no refund will be given for the remaining days.

6. Liability

  • Skillz accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property (e.g., mobile phones, electronics, clothing) brought to the camp. We recommend leaving valuables at home.

  • Skillz maintains full Public Liability Insurance.

7. Photography and Media

  • As detailed in our Privacy Policy, we may take photos or videos for promotional use.

  • Consent is requested at the time of booking. If you have opted out of photography, we will ensure your child is not included in promotional images.

8. Drop-off and Collection

  • Please ensure your child is dropped off and collected at the designated times.

  • If you are running late for collection, please contact the camp coordinator immediately.

9. Data Protection

  • All personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and GDPR regulations. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing without your consent.

10. Governing Law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.

Skillz Camps Privacy & Cookie Policy:

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal data collected by Skillz through our website, online shop, and during our camps and events.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (Ireland). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information we collect To provide our services, process orders, and ensure safety at our camps, we collect the following types of information:

  • Parent/Guardian details: Name, email address, phone number, and billing address.

  • Participant details (Minors): Name, date of birth (for age grouping), and medical/dietary information relevant to camp safety.

  • Transaction data: Details of products or camps you have purchased (note: we do not store full credit card numbers; these are processed securely by our payment providers).

  • Media: Photos or videos taken during camps (subject to the consent rules in Section 6).

2. How we use your personal data We only use your data where we have a legal basis to do so. The main reasons are:

  • Contractual Necessity: To process your camp booking, deliver shop orders, and ensure we know of any medical needs for your child during camp.

  • Legal Obligation: To comply with tax laws or child safeguarding regulations.

  • Legitimate Interest: To improve our camps, send you relevant information about your booking, and maintain the security of our website.

  • Consent: For marketing communications and the use of photography (as detailed below).

3. Marketing and Advertising (Meta & Social Media) We want to keep you updated on upcoming Skillz camps, new equipment drops, and exclusive offers.

  • Email Marketing: If you opt-in to our mailing list, we will send you newsletters and alerts. You can unsubscribe from these at any time using the link at the bottom of the email.

  • Social Media Advertising (Meta/Facebook/Instagram): We may use your email address to help us reach you or people similar to you with relevant ads on social media platforms.

    • This is done using tools like "Custom Audiences."

    • Your data is hashed (scrambled) locally on our browser before it is sent to Meta, meaning Meta does not see your actual email address, but can match it to your user ID if you have an account.

    • Your Right to Object: You have the absolute right to object to your data being used for this purpose. If you do not wish for your email to be used for social media targeting, please contact us.

4. Sharing your data We do not sell your personal data. However, we share data with trusted third parties who help us run our business:

  • Website Host (Wix): Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases, and general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

  • Service Providers: Companies that help us with IT, payment processing (e.g., Stripe/PayPal), and email marketing software.

  • Social Media Platforms: As mentioned in Section 3, for targeted advertising purposes (Meta).

  • Legal & Safety: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of a child at our camp (e.g., giving medical info to emergency services).

5. Data security and retention We take appropriate security measures to protect your data from loss or unauthorised access.

  • We keep your data only as long as necessary.

  • For tax and accounting purposes, we may keep transaction records for up to 6 years.

  • Camp booking details are retained to facilitate future bookings and verify age groups, but can be deleted upon request if no longer legally required.

6. Photography and Videography at Camps We often have photographers or videographers at Skillz camps to capture the fun and action for use on our website and social media channels.

  • Consent: By accepting our Terms & Conditions at the time of booking, you acknowledge that photography and videography may take place.

  • Opt-out: We understand that some parents may not wish for their child to be photographed. You will have the option to opt-out of photography during the booking process or by contacting us prior to the camp.

  • Usage: Images are used strictly for Skillz promotional purposes and are never sold to third parties.

7. International transfers As our website is built on Wix, your personal information may be transferred to and stored in data centers located in the United States, Ireland, South Korea, Taiwan, and Israel. Wix complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and uses Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure your data remains protected.

8. Your rights under GDPR You have specific rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.

  • Correction: You can ask us to fix any incorrect data (e.g., a new phone number).

  • Erasure: You can ask us to delete your data ("the right to be forgotten"), subject to our legal obligations to keep records.

  • Objection: You can object to the processing of your data for direct marketing.

9. Cookies Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users. This includes 'Essential Cookies' required for the site to function (security, verification, identification) and 'Marketing/Analytics Cookies' (to help us target ads and analyze traffic). You can manage your cookie preferences via the cookie banner that appears when you first visit our site.

10. Changes to this policy We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page.
